Map Description=== 4 bases with sheltered ports in an urban setting. Virtually all structures are in effective positions for garrisoning. The cities are filled with sound which diminishes as buildings are destroyed. Lighthouses serve as repairable Psychic Sensors. This is an updated version of Moonlit Bay (moonlit.mpr & moonlit.mmx) that was released on 3/16/2001. If you have either of these files in your RA2 folder, please delete them. Changes in version 2.0: -Online transfer now enabled. -Map enlarged so northern bases have more building space. -Several subtle mods added. -More game modes supported. -Better lighting settings. -Some detail improvements. -Sound triggers optimized. -Slight improvement to cliff and water tile placement, making use of FA2's framework mode. -Preview image included and improved readme file. Tips: While there's enough airports for everyone, expect swapping them to take place often. Garrison your local lighthouse to detect submarine activity in your port. You can click-repair it as long as you own it - if it is damaged into the red you will need an engineer before you can reclaim it again. ===3. Requirements=== You need to have Red Alert 2 installed and patched up to at least v1.005 to play this map. If an earlier version of the game is used, player starting positions may be randomized yielding unexpected results. ===4. Install & Run=== *Included files: moonlit_bay2.mpr (the map) moonlit_bay2_RA2.gif (preview image) moonlit_bay2_RA2.txt (this file) Place moonlit_bay2.mpr in your \RA2\ directory. Start RA2, and the map should appear on the map list. Battle/FFA, Meatgrinder, Navalwar, Nukewar, and Airwar game modes are supported. This is an updated version of Moonlit Bay (moonlit.mpr & moonlit.mmx) that was released on 3/16/2001. If you have either of these files in your RA2 folder, please delete them. ===5. Modifications=== -Lighthouses act as Psychic Sensors when garrisoned, are click-repairable, are stronger, and will hold more infantry than normal. -Mirage Tanks imitate more and different trees. -City buildings emit ambient sounds. ===6. MapEditing Notes=== Finally, Final Alert2-Yuri has arrived! It was worth the wait :) The base version of this map, 'Moonlit Bay' for RA2, believe it or not, was my first map. Not my first *released* map - my first map ever. I just kept, err, fixing it until I didn't see anything wrong with it anymore. The map in *this* archive is an the improved, updated version. All mods are new, since I didn't know how to mod when I made the first version of this map. INI changes affect the Mirage Tank, Lighthouses, AI shipyard building, and assorted city buildings. All INI changes are documented below.
